Draw fitness of plant as a function of its pericarp thickness, circle on graph where Northern & Southern   latitudes/populations are located
  3. Given figure 1 & table 1 from Einum & Fleming 2000. What theory are they testing? What are the coefficients in the table? Relate to theory. How were the coefficients measured? How did they test the significance? Explain the figure, relate it to the theory. Is there conflict? What type of conflict.

  1. Define evolving metacommunities. How may interactions between dispersal, species sorting, evolution (e.g. environmental filtering) affect the way metacommunities evolve to climate change? How can this explain range shift change and extinction.
  2. Define evolution-mediated priority effects. Give an example of how this impacts a) nature conservation and b) Darwinian medicine.
  3. Student lectures. Choose between reintroduction (explain factors you need to take into consideration for reintroduction) and ecosystem resilience.

  2. Given: figure about fruit fly experiment (chapter life history evolution), with mean longevity plotted in function of generation. Questions: On which hypothesis is this experiment based (Mutation Accumulation)? Explain, and what is the conclusion of this experiment?
  3. Questions about paper of Franks et al. (2007), table 1 & figures 2 and 3, and predicted results are given. a) in what way did they investigate climate change as a selective agent? What are the advantages of this approach? b) Was adaptive evolution present? Explain. c) Were the observed results consisent with the predicted results? Give three possible explanations for this and relate two of these to the G matrix?

3) What are possible way to counteract antibiotic resistance? (or some thing like that) OR explain high dose refuge strategy. Depends on what your presentation was during the lectures.

3) Diffuse coevolution requires genetic correlation between the resistance against two herbivores. True or false, explain. (beside rg, there's also beta which is a factor that's influenced by the other herbivore)

  1. Hoe hebben onze inzichten in eco-evolutionaire dynamieken de manier waarop we naar natuurherstelprojecten kijken veranderd? Hoe zou je deze dynamieken onderzoeken in dit opzicht? (Het was iets in deze aard, ik weet te precieze verwoording niet meer).
